High card wins, simple as that
Free play uses practice credits with no cash value.
You and the dealer each draw one card from a freshly shuffled 52-card shoe. Higher card wins, straight up, paid even money. Ace is always the top card.
Draw the same rank as the dealer and it's a tie — you get the classic War choice: surrender for half your bet back, or go to War — double the bet, burn three cards, and one new card each decides the whole pot.
| Outcome | Pays |

"Pays" is the total return on your ORIGINAL bet, stake included. Winning the War returns both your original bet and the raise, plus a win equal to your original bet — the raise itself pushes. A rare second tie during the War always resolves as a player win rather than dragging on.
It's a tie!
