Eight words are hidden in a grid of twelve by twelve letters, and the rest of the grid is filled with random letters. The words are drawn from a pool of programming terms, so the list changes with every puzzle. A word can run in any of the eight directions, including diagonally and backwards. Drag across the letters of a word to claim it; the puzzle is done when all eight are struck off the list beside the grid.
There is no score or clock. The counter above the grid shows how many words you have found out of the total, and each word you find is marked on the list and stays highlighted in the grid. A selection is accepted if it matches a listed word read either forwards or backwards, so you never have to guess which end to start from. Finding the same word twice does not count again.
Yes. All eight directions are used, including right to left and both diagonals in either direction.
The letters you dragged over have to spell a word on the list exactly. A drag that wanders off the straight line picks up extra letters and will not match.
Yes — on a touch screen the game shows on-screen buttons, and games played with a mouse work by tapping.
