Two counters race up a 10x10 board numbered 1 to 100. Players take turns rolling one die and moving that many squares; ladders carry you up and snakes drop you down. The first counter to land on 100 wins.
There are no points; the square you stand on is the whole score. A roll adds one to six squares, capped at 100, so a roll that would overshoot leaves you on 100 and wins. There are eight ladders — 4 to 14, 9 to 31, 20 to 38, 28 to 84, 40 to 59, 51 to 67, 63 to 81 and 71 to 91 — and six snakes: 97 down to 78, 95 to 56, 88 to 24, 76 to 37, 62 to 19 and 54 to 34. Rows run in alternating directions, so the numbering snakes back and forth up the board, and the side panel shows each player's current square.
No. Any roll that reaches or passes 100 lands you on 100 and wins, so there is no bouncing back from the top square.
Two, both controlled from the same screen. The panel highlights whose turn it is in amber.
Yes — on a touch screen the game shows on-screen buttons, and games played with a mouse work by tapping.
