How to play

Fifteen geography questions drawn at random from a bank of eighteen, covering capitals, rivers, continents, oceans and landmarks. Each question gives four options and ten seconds to choose. Pick one, see whether you were right, and the next question follows automatically.

• Start — shuffles the bank, takes fifteen questions and begins. It becomes Play Again once the run is over.
• Option tile — click an answer to lock it in. All four stop responding at once, and the tile you picked turns green or red.

Scoring

A correct answer scores 10 points plus 3 for each answer already in your current streak, so the first correct is worth 10, the second 13, the third 16 and so on with no ceiling. A wrong answer or a timeout scores nothing and drops the streak straight back to zero. The bar under the header drains over ten seconds; if it empties, the correct answer is revealed and the quiz moves on after 1.2 seconds. After a wrong or right answer the pause is one second. The final screen shows your total score rather than a count of correct answers.

Tips

• The streak multiplier compounds, so fifteen correct in a row is worth far more than fifteen correct answers with mistakes in between. Protect a long streak by answering carefully rather than fast.
• Watch the capital-city questions. Several use the trap of the largest city rather than the capital, so Australia is Canberra not Sydney, Brazil is Brasilia not Rio, and Canada is Ottawa not Toronto.
• Two questions have deliberately unobvious answers: the country with the most islands is Sweden, and the Sahara spans several African countries rather than sitting in one.
